Windstream names Trent Fellers vice president of governmental affairs for five states
LINCOLN, Neb. — Windstream, a leading provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions, today announced that it has named Trent Fellers to serve as its vice president for governmental affairs for Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas, Missouri and Minnesota.
Fellers will be based in Lincoln and report to Brad Hedrick, president of operations for Windstream in Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas, Missouri and Minnesota.
He was elected to the Lincoln City Council and served from 2013 to 2017, including a stint as council chairman from 2015 to 2016. He recently worked in business development for a software company, Don’t Panic Labs. He has been a deputy director for the Nebraska State Energy Office, a campaign manager for U.S. senate candidate Jon Bruning, and chief of staff to former state Treasurer Shane Osborn.
“Trent will become such an important part of Windstream’s plans to deploy fiber Internet and fixed wireless services around Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas and Missouri this year and next,” said Hedrick. “His experience in business, state government and elected office will be put to work to help meet Kinetic customers’ demands for high-megabit and even gigabit Internet speeds now.”
“Windstream’s a longtime Internet service provider that’s introduced game-changing network technology in the Midwest at an affordable price in places like Lincoln, a capital city, but also in much smaller, more challenging communities that rely on it just as much,” Fellers said. “My service to the city of Lincoln and to my home state has taught me that expanding Internet services and speeds everywhere across our region can grow economies and new jobs anywhere. I’m thrilled.”
Fellers served the United States Marine Corps reserves from 2000 to 2006. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in public administration from Doane University.
